Frequently asked questions
- What is a purchase order?
- A purchase order is the document you send a supplier to confirm exactly what you are buying, at what price and when it should arrive.
- Why use a PO number?
- The supplier quotes it on the delivery note and invoice, so you can match each invoice to what you actually ordered.
- Should prices on a purchase order include VAT?
- List unit prices before VAT and show the VAT and total separately, which is how most trade suppliers invoice.
- Is my purchase order saved anywhere?
- No. It stays in your browser tab only, so print it or save it as a PDF before you close the page.
- Can I raise purchase orders in software instead?
- Yes. IBIOS Order Management raises supplier orders from the job record and tracks acknowledgements, invoices and delivery dates, and goods can be booked into the warehouse against each order. Access is by waiting list.
