When are TeamViewer or RemotePC the better choice?

Whenever you need remote access now. Both are on sale today and IBIOS Remote is not, so for an urgent fix or a team that needs to start this month, choose one of them.

They are also the better fit if you need to control Mac, Linux or mobile devices, because IBIOS Remote starts with Windows PCs only. And if you already run your helpdesk in another product, a standalone remote access tool may be all you need.

What is IBIOS Remote being designed to do differently?

The idea is remote access that lives where your customers, jobs and tickets already are. IBIOS Remote is written by IBIOS rather than resold. It is designed so that only your company owner can enrol a PC, each PC has a named list of people, access can be switched off with one click, and every connection is logged. A banner on the PC always shows when someone is connected.

All of this is coming soon and none of it is live. See IBIOS Remote for the full list. If you only need to see a customer’s screen and talk them through a problem, IBIOS Assist is the simpler, view-only option, also coming soon.

How should a UK small business choose remote desktop software?

Start with who needs access and to which computers, then check consent, sign-in steps and the log, then ask where the notes go afterwards. Check each vendor’s own page on the day you decide, because plans and features change, and ask for a written answer on anything that matters to you.

IBIOS Remote is worth waiting for only if the link to your own helpdesk and customer records matters to you. Join the waiting list and we will tell you plainly when it is ready.
